FORM MEETS FUNCTION

We design gardens for people.
Our focus is on creating spaces that are both visually appealing and functional, where form meets function.

Our design process

Every garden starts with an idea and a clear plan.

We follow a simple, thoughtful process that adapts to your needs, helping you turn your vision into a functional, beautiful, and sustainable space.

From a one-time consultation to a complete garden design, we guide you step by step so you feel confident and inspired throughout the journey.

  • We start with a one-on-one meeting at your home to understand your project, get to know your lifestyle, and assess the current situation; whether you're building, renovating, or already living in the space.

This is the most important part of the process for me. It’s where we get to know each other, explore your ideas, and begin shaping the vision for your garden together.

Includes: Site visit, general assessment, and a conversation about your goals, needs, preferences, and style.

    Duration: 60 minutes
    Cost: $220 AUD

  • Once the consultation is over, I’ll need the house and site plans to assess the areas to be designed. This allows me to assess the space, orientation, soil conditions, drainage, and other key features.

If plans are not available, we can schedule a technical visit to take on-site measurements.

    This service is quoted separately.

  • We meet again to go over the design proposal for your garden.

You’ll receive a digital or printed folder, depending on the selected package, with everything you need to visualise and bring your garden to life, including:

    • Overall concept

    • Scaled design plan

    • Inspiration moodboard

    • Suggested plant list

    • Recommended materials and textures

    • Functional and aesthetic ideas tailored to your space

This step ensures that you feel confident and aligned with the design before moving forward.

  • Once the design is approved, I can connect you with trusted professionals to bring the project to life.
If needed, I’ll support you through this stage to help ensure that the final result stays true to the original design and vision.

It All Begins with an Idea

A garden begins as a thought, a feeling, an inspo image

The rest, we build together

Backyard with brick pathway, dirt patches, a white brick house wall with window, and a tree with pink flowers.
Flower bed with young plants and irrigation system, surrounded by soil and bordered with black edging. Coiled extension cords or hoses are on the sandy surface nearby. In the background, there are additional plants and a partially visible white brick wall.
View of a white gravel pathway with large stepping stones, surrounded by a landscaped area with plants and shrubs, leading to a white building with a flat roof, under a cloudy sky.

In this project, the client was renovating his home and wanted the garden to reflect that transformation with a clean, modern look.

His request was clear: a low-maintenance garden with layered shades of green and soft textures that would bring freshness without overwhelming the space. My role was to support him in shaping the garden beds, selecting hardy, decorative species that aligned with his vision.

Together, we designed a layout that was simple, functional, and harmonious, including a side path with stepping stones to improve access to the backyard, seamlessly blending aesthetics and practicality.

The result: a front garden with character, aligned with the home's new identity, one that continues to grow in beauty with each season.

April Update

Ryan shared this photo to show how the plants had begun to settle and take shape over time.

Watching gardens evolve is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. It’s always a joy to receive updates like this!
